What will you need for your Easy Christmas Eggnog Cheesecake?
- Graham crackers: Provide a sweet, buttery foundation with a slightly crunchy texture.
- Cinnamon: Adds warmth and depth, enhancing the seasonal flavor profile.
- Nutmeg: Offers a subtle nutty spice, complementing the eggnog flavor in the cheesecake.
- Unsalted butter: Binds the crust ingredients, adding richness and keeping the crust from being overly sweet.
- Granulated sugar: Sweetens the crust while helping to create a tender texture.
- Salt: Enhances the sweetness and overall flavor balance of the crust.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups (150g) crushed graham crackers
- ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
- ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 pinch of salt
Cooking Method
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 325°F (163°C) to prepare for baking the crust.
- Crush the graham crackers: Use a food processor to pulse the graham crackers into fine crumbs. Alternatively, place them in a zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
- Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and a pinch of salt.
- Add the melted butter: Pour the melted butter over the dry ingredients. Mix until the crumbs are moist and resemble wet sand.
- Press into pan: Transfer the mixture to a 9-inch (23cm) springform pan. Spread evenly and press firmly into the bottom to form an even crust. Use the back of a spoon or a flat-bottomed glass for a compact layer.
- Bake the crust: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow it to cool completely while you prepare the cheesecake filling.
