Keto-Friendly Cloud Eggs Recipe
Keto-Friendly Cloud Eggs Recipe
Fluffy, ethereal, and deliciously nutritious, cloud eggs are a culinary delight that's gaining popularity among keto enthusiasts. These cheese-topped egg clouds are not only aesthetically pleasing but also packed with protein and healthy fats, making them an ideal choice for a keto-friendly breakfast or brunch.
Ingredients
- 4 large eggs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: chopped chives or parsley for garnish
Cooking Method
Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Separate the Eggs: Carefully separate the egg whites from the yolks, placing the whites into a large, clean mixing bowl and the yolks each into separate small bowls.
Whip the Egg Whites: Using an electric mixer, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. This should take about 3-4 minutes.
-

Fold in Parmesan: Gently fold the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper into the stiff egg whites with a spatula, being careful not to deflate the mixture.
Shape the Clouds: Spoon the egg white mixture onto the prepared baking sheet in four mounds. Create a well in the center of each mound with the back of a spoon to hold the yolk later.
Bake the Whites: Bake the egg whites in the preheated oven for 3 minutes.
Add the Yolks: Carefully place one egg yolk into the well of each egg white cloud. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the yolks are set to your liking.
Serve: Remove the cloud eggs from the oven, sprinkle with chopped chives or parsley if desired, and serve immediately.
Nutritious Value and Pairings
Cloud eggs are a powerhouse of nutrition, offering high-quality protein, healthy fats, and essential vitamins and minerals such as vitamin A, D, E, B12, and selenium. They are naturally low in carbohydrates, aligning perfectly with keto dietary guidelines.
For a complete keto-friendly meal, pair cloud eggs with a simple arugula salad topped with lemon vinaigrette and avocado slices. For an added touch of flavor, consider a side of smoked salmon or prosciutto. As for beverages, a freshly brewed cup of bulletproof coffee or a glass of sparkling water with a lemon wedge complements the meal beautifully, enhancing the overall breakfast or brunch experience.
